Production
Pine trees take around 25 years to begin producing edible nuts. And the production and harvesting of pine nuts require a large workforce and this is evident from its high price. Pine nuts ripen in the late summer and to harvest them, pine trees with low branches are needed. These trees have both opened and unopened pine cones on them. To obtain the cones from trees, they are twisted off the branches. And finally, we obtain pine nuts from the pine cones with each pine cone scale having 2 kernels.
