Production

Almonds grow on trees, but they are not just any tree: they are the tree that produces the world’s most popular nut. Almonds are trees that belong to the genus Prunus. They grow in climates with mild winters and hot summers. Almonds take two years to mature, bearing fruit in their second year. Almond trees produce flowers that turn into fruit pods containing tiny seeds that need to be pollinated by the bees. The process of pollination ensures that each flower produces almonds. Technically, almond trees produce drupes, a type of fruit with a fuzzy layer called a hull and a hard shell containing the nut which is removed from the drupes, and bulk almonds for sale are obtained.

Almonds are a delicious, nutritious snack that is great for people of all ages. They are exclusively grown in the United States of America. In these countries, particularly, California and Arizona. Currently, South Africa’s Western Cape produces the country’s around 300 metric tonnes of Almonds, which is likely to improve in the coming years.
